Data shows that people with disabilities typically have low rates of employment — approximately 30% of working-age adults with disabilities are employed compared with more than 70% of the non-disabled population. Hosted during National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), this lively discussion focused on the benefits of engaging disabled employees and taking a proactive approach to disability inclusion in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Tune in to learn from Sarah Napoli, Acting Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Open Society Foundations (OSF) and Joel Hernandez, Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition at Jobs for the Future, in a conversation moderated by Dr. Zakiya Mabery.
This free learning session was open to members of the Disability & Philanthropy Forum. It is the final session of a four-part series designed to address key steps on the journey to disability inclusion, made possible by the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy.
